This book is full of facts of the Korean War. It would be a good first book for someone interested in the Korean War. A plus for the book (in my opinion) was that one of the co-authors was an infantry officer that fought there during the conflict.

Fire & Ice is a most interesting and authoritative account of the Korean conflict. Conveys the full sweep of the war from confrontation.. bitter struggle.. and a fragile peace. It is endlessly fascinating.

Expertly researched with great insight to the numerous complexities of this “police action”. Well done.

As an Army officer with eleven years of active duty combat arms experience, I can attest that this book is accurate, useful, and relevant to modern practitioners of tactics and military history. Not only was it a pleasure to read, but it substantially increased my knowledge of the Korean conflict. This is “must” reading for soldiers and civilians alike.
